Givonit

For nonprofits

Tell donors exactly what your organization needs.

List the items your program actually uses — diapers, books, food, supplies. Donors fund them through Amazon, Walmart, or Target. The goods ship directly to you. You keep 100%.

Verification takes ~24 hours · IRS Pub 78 lookup · No platform fee, ever.

Why nonprofits choose Givonit

Built for organizations that want specific, useful items — not cash for “general operations.”

  • Zero platform fee on donations.

We earn from retailer affiliate commissions, optional donor tips, and the margin on items we source and sell directly — never a cut of your donations. Your line items go to you, full price.

  • Address privacy.

Donors never see your ship-to address. Amazon Wish List handoff keeps it private end-to-end.

  • Verification you can show off.

IRS Pub 78 cross-check + a Givonit verification badge on your profile and every need card.

  • Honest reporting.

Mark items received when they arrive. Donors see funded → confirmed transitions. No inflated metrics.

  • Analytics and donor messaging.

Track funded needs, confirmation rates, and engagement. Donors can message your org directly.

How it works for nonprofits

1

Onboard and get verified

Create an org account, enter your EIN, and complete IRS Pub 78 verification. Most organizations are confirmed instantly. Verification is free.

2

Post your specific needs

Search our product catalog and post the exact items you need — quantities, urgency, descriptions of how they'll be used. Needs go live immediately.

3

Receive items and confirm

Donors purchase items directly from retailers to your address. When items arrive, confirm receipt on the platform to close the need and build trust.

Eligibility requirements

Private foundations, non-US organizations, and unincorporated associations are not eligible at this time. Fiscal-sponsored projects should contact us before applying.

Common questions from nonprofits

How long does verification take?

Most organizations are verified instantly via automated IRS lookup. If your EIN isn't matched automatically, manual review typically takes 2 business days. You'll receive an email when your status changes.

What kinds of needs can we post?

Any specific item available from Amazon, Walmart, or Target that your organization genuinely needs for charitable purposes. Physical goods only — Givonit does not support cash-need listings (use the cash donation feature for that).

Can we post needs for multiple programs or locations?

Yes. You can post needs for different programs and associate them with different ship-to addresses within your organization's account. Each need specifies its destination address at posting time.

What if a donor purchases something but we never receive it?

Self-report the need as unfulfilled. We'll flag it in our system. The retailer (Amazon, Walmart, or Target) is responsible for fulfillment — donors can follow up with the retailer's customer service for shipping issues.

Is there a limit to how many needs we can post?

No hard limit during the current phase. We ask that all posted needs be genuine, current, and specific — needs older than 90 days without activity are archived automatically.

How do we receive cash donations made through the platform?

Cash donations are sent directly to your organization's Stripe Connect account. Givonit does not hold your funds. Contact us to set up Stripe Connect during onboarding.
